A rare mid-week update.

For one, new layout. I hate mentioning it because in a season it'll be different, and yet I do it every time. Proof of my thick-headedness.

Sixweasels (who is locked, hence no link) had such a wonderful list of all the things she's thankful for this season, and I'm jumping on the bandwagon and creating my own list. I toyed with posting it tomorrow, but who knows if I'll have time. And since I'm going to be getting ready to go up to my parents' then off to work (an extended disco remix of a shift since we're open until 10) on Friday, you're getting my entry today.

1. My wonderful and supportive parents that can wrap me in a bear hug 4 hours away and not even realize it.

2. My adoring man, MB. He's working himself into the crazy house to try to make a life for us and goes out of his way to take care of both me and his mom.

3. My sisters and their families. They are truly becoming like sisters to me instead of second moms. They all have amazingly talented and great kids that I'm very proud to call my nieces and nephews.

4. My best friend L. My sister from another mother. Her love and support this last year has buoyed me up in times when I was ready to turn tail and run.

5. Midgets 1 and 2. Those girls are so much fun to be with and I am so blessed to have met them. Especially Midget 1. It's not often a 25-year-old can say that one of her best friends is 16 and that's the case with us.

6. The Crew: J, Mandy, and all the others I haven't come up with monikers for yet. Get us all in the same place and there's no shortage of good times, laughs, and free-flowing drinks.

7. A, whom I was just getting to know and am still missing very much. It's been 6 months (or will be shortly) and I still can't believe she's not here. A, I love ya, girl.

8. All our animals. When you live in a zoo, there's nothing like coming home to a mini army of fuzzies that rub and kiss and snuggle and wiggle all your worries away. Even when they break expensive Swarovski crystal sheep and poop under the stairs.

9. Having steady employment for a switch. I love the women I work with and if the new woman is as fun as she seemed last night, we're in for more laughs than we can handle.

10. All my students at both the schools I sub at. I've had some really great kids this year and even the ones that try my patience or call me Hermione more than I'd like have a special place in my heart.

11. The awesome 6th graders I've had the opportunity to work with so much this year. That team is fantastic and I always look forward to seeing them.

12. My little Cal Dawg, who for 6 years gave me love and snuggles in her own paranoid way. Wuv ya, Cals.

13. Dunkin Donuts -- perpetuating the addiciton.

14. Panera, for being my new expensive addiction.

15. Warm flanel sheets on a cold night. Coupled with the cozy comforter Mom C gave MB and a man that loves to snuggle and drifting off to dreamland is heaven.

16. Mom C, for teaching me more about myself and what I want out of life than she probably knows.

17. Target, my newest love. Do I really need to sing the praises of Tar-jay?

18. This wonderful online community better known as Diaryland. Knowing that there are others out there willing to read my drivel and that allow me to take a peek into their lives still thrills me.

19. Great movie crowds that interact with each other and the movie.

20. All of the books I've read this year (26 at last count).

21. All of the books on my To Read list that keeps expanding.

22. Being drunk... in... public.

23. Harry Potter, and the amazing preview I saw on Friday night of Order of the Phoenix that comes out this summer. I think I actually squealed. I can't wait!

24. Websites that can make me lose track of time for large periods (thanks, IMDB!).

25. Driving 65 in 45 zones and not getting caught.

26. Driving anywhere.

27. All the little boutiques around here that I could spend a mint in.

28. Being curled up with Baron while watching Top Chef/Project Runyway.

29. Long walks in the fields.

30. Kittens. Plain and simple.

31. We have a lot of kittens.

32. About 9 if memory serves.

33. Number 2 pencils. Please don't ask why.

34. And school supplies. For some reason I've been dorking it up lately.

35. Our room actually picked up for a change.

36. Finally having a small bookshelf for all my books.

37. Fuzzy navels and Last Resort shots.

38. Lots of Last Resort shots.

39. Coffee. Coffeecoffeecoffeecoffeecoffeecoffeecoffee.

40. Employee discounts and having benefits as a part-timer.

41. Now I can be myself and get hurt.

42. But I won't because that's no fun. 43. Just all the stuff that I love doing that would cause me to end up in the ER.

44. Fireworks.

45. Puppy breath.

46. Riding shotgun on a one-person quad.

47. Especially along the back ridge.

48. All the good music I've been listening to lately (Sugarland, Gnarls Barkley, Ludacris, Keith Urban, Rob Thomas, and on and on and on).

49. Finally finding my missing calendar that I keep in my purse. I had given it up for gone!

50. Long hot showers, even though the hard water makes my hair nuts.

Thanks for reading,

Ter
