Bless you, Friday, for promptly arriving. One second later and I would seriously have blown a gasket. After being Suzy Homemaker all day, MB is treating me to Pirates II tonight. And since I was a good little designated driver last Friday, I wouldn't mind a drink or two beforehand.

For the first time in I have no idea how long, dare I say I'm almost caught up with our laundry? Now that I put that out in the universe, I'll need to pray heavily and do a ton of good deeds in order not to jinx myself. I fear it may be too late (usually is; do you have any idea how many pairs of sock my man has? Let's just say the number is close to a 6-month supply, but I could be off by a pair or three).

Have I really become reduced to talking about socks? Yar...

At any rate, I've been taking advantage of all the warm sunshine to hang clothes out on the line. This is only noteworthy for me as I've never been a fan of line drying clothes. Something about the stiffness of towels and jeans that rubs me the wrong way (quite literally). But I grew up sheltered and Mom C has introduced me to the joys of fabric softener, so no more sandpaper towels for me.

Still no word on gainful employment. I did, however, find a writing contest in a major national magazine (that I won't name due to the fact that I don't want competition, sorry). $750 for the grand prize and 2-$250 runner up prizes. Can't sneeze at that. So I have until mid-September to write a 2,500-word short story. I can't wait! That's on today's agenda, along with the laundry, the ever-present dishes, and whatever else I have to do.

Ready for Countryfest tomorrow,

Thanks for reading,

Ter
