I am so loving the warm weather! Thank you, New York, for paying attention to the calendar in a timely fashion. Keep it up for the weekend and I swear I'll stop threatening to move to Virginia. Maybe. We'll see. At any rate, I took the lovely change of weather to do something I've put off for approximately 6 months -- clean out my car.
Since the weather turned crummy (though we did have a mild winter, I digress), my car has become a trash can-on-wheels. That's no good. I am known for 2 things with my car: 1) loud stereo, 2) speeding. Personal dumping ground is not on that list. Unfortunately, with limited daylight hours, a busy schedule, and sheer laziness my lovely 1998 Grand Prix SE 3.8 V6 badass turned from the Linkinmobile to the Junkmobile. Anything and everything, from old coffee cups and bagel bags (I heart Dunkin Donuts) to soda cans, water bottles, candy wrappers, and McDonald's miscellany, there was just enough room for me to fit in the car. Also, MB has used my car as "temporary storage". Remember when we went skiing?? MB's ski boots and his winter coat are still in my car (now relocated from the back seat to the trunk). Speaking of my trunk, the inflatable guitar is still in there from when we went north to our friends' wedding, as is the Domino Rally game from when my parents moved a year and a half ago. To file under "miscellaneous": my backpack from high school that I swear is still good, MB's backpack with stuff still in it from the Spring 2005 semester, MB's Mr. Wonderful t-shirt that needs a good scrubbing, a tie, a surge protector, a flood light, silver Easter grass from the birthday present I made L 3 years ago that she never got because the semester was too hectic and she didn't come up that time, a pair of gloves, a scraper I forgot I had, and a box bottom that I'm guessing we used to carry pet food from the store. I'm blanking on what else could have been in there.
Oh yeah. A basketball. From when MB and a friend played basketball back in, oh I don't know, September?
Needless to say, my sweet little ride is now capable of transporting more than me to various places around the Capital Region. It's about time!
Tutoring has been going well. We only met twice this week because my student was sick. Yesterday was Superintendent's Day and today is Good Friday, so no school. All next week is Spring Break so I'll finally have time to do all the nothing I've been dreaming of! It's a dream come true! I can't believe it! I don't know what I'll do first: play EverQuest II, read, play with the puppy, harass my cat, or nap all the live-long day. I think I'll do it all, but I better space those out; naps can really drain you!
And now for the paragraph I've been waiting this whole entry to type (because I didn't want to kick the entry off with it and have no grand finale)... my birthday is tomorrow!!! Here I am, 25 years old, and still giddy about turning another year older. TB sent me 7 scratch off tickets and I won $5 on one of them. It was almost $250, but I had to match 3 like prize amounts and only had 2 $250 matches. Grr!! But $5 is better than nothing. Still full steam ahead for going out on the town, despite the fact that practically everyone I wanted to come out with me bailed for whatever reason. Gah! I don't care. I'm going to have my fuzzy navels (maybe a pina colada, it is my birthday afterall) and my shots and dance my tushy off.
Here's to livin' it up,
Thanks for reading,
Ter
