I apparently set the wake timer to go off on the wrong station on my television last night, so instead of being blasted awake by the Canadian radio station I'm so fond of, I was blasted awake by some really perky chick in Spandex doing aerobics. I don't know if there's a subliminal message in there for me, or I was just on the wrong channel when I remembered to change my wake timer, but I never want to see Day-Glo orange Spandex for as long as I live.
Another thing to check off my To Do List: presenting my lesson plan. I was so surprised at how much they ate it up! I gave them a writing task to do and I wasn't expecting many volunteers and it came down to my choice of who to pick instead of coaxing. They loved it! It's really put the spark back in me. Since these last two classes started, it's felt like the enthusiasm has been sucked right out of me. I knew it'd come back eventually, I just wasn't sure when or how. I think coming up with a stellar lesson plan and actually presenting it refueled my fire. Today's challenge, that I have no choice but to accept, is to work on my unit plan. We'll be working on them in class on Monday (no class today -- whoo hoo!!), so I don't have to have it all done yet or anything.
MB's coming up tonight (yay!!) after his calculus test, which means I'll have to stay up to let him in. And then tomorrow we're heading over the mall near TG's, then to her new house since we haven't seen it since it's been finished. They moved in a few weeks ago. And MB gets to meet my sister and her kids and TG's Man Friend (MF) if he's around (and I have a feeling he will, ugh).
Now, as much as I'd rather be lazing around in jammies, I need to shower up and get cracking at my resource kits and my unit plan. Tune in next time where I'll be talking about whether or not we're actually moving. For real, this time.
Busy and loving it,
Thanks for reading,
Ter
