Dear Little White D-land Entry Window:

There's a good chance that 1) MB will come home and/or B) the microwave will beep, so that I won't be able to caress you with words like I want to. Times like this I wish I'd ordered out and lived alone (not really).

Luv ya!

Today was the best/worst day ever and I'm drinking a celebratory Mike's Hard Lemonade like the wuss I am. Come, walk with me.

I subbed for a 7th grade social studies teacher. His little hellions reminded me why they are the spawn of Satan himself and why I can't get enough (there goes the microwave...) of teaching at the college level. God bless my little punks that hardly turn in their homework and whine about the grades they earned (whoooooooooole other kettle of fish; let's just say one of my youngins, while meaning well, can be a total ditz). These middle school nightmares talked while I gave instructions, talked during their test, and in general did everything in their tweenie power to piss the sub off (me, in case that wasn't clear). My favorite parts where when a special ed teacher attached to this team came in and read one class the riot act TWICE and they still didn't listen. The other was when their teacher came back from his field trip with his seniors and they tried so hard to redeem themselves and act angellic when he knew darn well it was a darn dirty lie. It was all I could do not to giggle uncontrollably and skip around the room.

With that happily behind me, I went over to the college to tutor (we either missed each other or my student couldn't make it. Meh) and got to talking to my supervisor about a Top Secret Position that no one's supposed to know about yet. She said I'm perfect for it. When it becomes public knowledge I'll talk more about it, but it would be a dream come true if I get offered this position. Ahhhhh!! I'm salivating just thinking about it...

... or else it's the pork ribs I'm making for dinner. That's probably it.

No clue what's up for the weekend. Being Mother's Day, I'm sure we'll be spending some time with Mom C. My parents are back north, have been for a few days, but I won't be seeing Mom or Dad for a bit just yet. They might be coming down next weekend. We're still playing it by ear. They mentioned coming this weekend, but I think they're sick of travelling for the moment. I'll be going over response portfolios and pretending I care while writing responses back, when really I'm ready to move on. Sorry guys, it's not you... wait, yes, it is. Damn, wish I could say that, especially to my Monday/Wednesday group (or the majority of it anyway). Maybe I'll just say screw it and start prepping the area I want to be my garden. Watch, 1) it will rain, and 2) I just jinxed it by saying so. God, I'm a moron sometimes...

Oh, just wanted to add that we have carpenter ants (joy) and I've had great fun lighting them on fire with the lighter for the stove. That is all.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms in the crowd!

Ter
