It's been a whirlwind week. And I couldn't be more thrilled, though you wouldn't have known it when the week began.
I spent Monday getting handed off from one office to another. My advisor (who no one felt I should be introduced to) wasn't in her office when I'd go by or when someone would call her, and since the computer system decided that it'd crash for no apparent reason, I basically was told to just show up to classes with an add/drop form and see what happens.
Yeah, show up to classes I may not even need and completely waste my time. Good idea.
Don't slip on my puddle of sarcasm.
To make a long story short, I did end up meeting my advisor, who's absolutely the greatest woman ever. She set me up for the next two years with a plan of what to take and when. I thought these mythical "helpful advisors" didn't exist on my campus. I thought wrong. We got me all registered and set and I officially started classes on Wednesday. 12 credits: 3 literature classes and my Very First Grad Class Ever -- Intro to Special Ed.
A brief snippet of a conversation between me and my friend J, and the utter hilarity of being in a class so titled:
J: special ed
J: ter
J: finally coming out
J: and addmitting it eh
Me: thats why im in special ed
Me: well... you know what i mean
Me: hehe
Me: that sounded weird
Me: im in special ed
Me: daha!
J: lmao
J: youv finally found your calling
So far everything's going smoothly. I just feel strange being back there in undergrad classes since I've technically graduated. But I'm liking everything so far. 20 minutes into Intro to Special Ed I was so giddy to teach that I could barely contain myself. To quote Blink 182:
"Don't pull me down, this is where I belong"
Satisfied,
Thanks for reading,
Ter
